Activities at Millrace Nursing Home
We encourage residents to put forward ideas for activities
In order to ensure residents fulfil their personal, social and psychological needs the following services and activities are available within the Nursing Home.
Family members are encouraged to take their relatives on outings of their choice, if this is appropriate and does not place the resident at risk.
Every effort is made to facilitate the residents to participate in the activities of their choice.
Following assessment after their admission the residents’ choice of activities are identified in consultation with the resident and/or their family.
At our monthly Residents meetings we encourage residents to put forward ideas for activities which will help to enhance their stay in the nursing home. All ideas will be given careful consideration, discussed and facilitated if appropriate.
Residents who wish to participate in any individual activities, outside of the group arrangements may incur a separate charge. There are many services and activities available in the local community for residents to attend if they wish. We are constantly updating our file with details and contact numbers which will be available at reception.
Any travel arrangements should be made by the resident and/or relatives. A recommended taxi service is available. Any costs relating to outside activities should be paid by the resident.
Millrace Nursing Home has an Activity Co-ordinator 6 days a week, 9am – 4.30pm. Meaningful Activites are an integral part of our Day to Day functions.
